The Sutton’s

The Sutton’s

A totally dysfunctional family like any other chasing the country side dream in the Surrey Hills.
We are not going to fill this space up with the ‘ideal’ image of what living a country life should look like but more of what it’s really like.

We are a clan of 5 myself, my husband kyle and our brood of 3, Teddy 6, Ollie 2, and Ava just 3 weeks old!
Hopefully this blog will follow us through the seasons living on a Shooting Estate there’s always jobs to be done and the boys are more then willing to help...(or hinder Ha!)

Me and Kyle met four years ago and soon bonded over a jagabomb sharing our love for the countryside and hunting. I was one of the first girls he met that didn’t just dress country but took part in the nitty gritty.
My eldest Ted has always been an outdoor boy loving the farm life and being totally tractor orientated so slipping into a game keepers life was a dream for him, all be it a completely new chapter. He particularly loves lamping and the lurcher work and has his own lurcher Bella.
Oliver was blowing the birds to feed and calling the bucks in the rut before he could walk. Its completely in his blood and you’ll see by his pictures he’s very into the dog side and the picking up.
Ava.... well that’s a story that will unfold over time and this blog.
Myself, my dad was always into his country pursuits not so much when I was growing up but in his past and has since picked up again in later life so it’s to him I owe my interest and passions for all things outdoors. I’ve always hunted but it wasn’t until I met Kyle I got the opportunity to really get into the shooting.
Kyle started at a very young age rearing birds with his dad I have a very embarrassing photo of his first Shot gun license at 12 but we can share that another day... He studied game keeping at College and went on to work at a local shoot and then proving his talents at a very young age to become a beat keeper on a large private shoot to then take over as head keeper 5 years on. Nothing gets in between Kyle and his job, I say job it’s his complete life, our life. He’s always plotting and planning improvements and can’t take a day off!

NGS came into our lives with Ted becoming an ambassador and since then, become more then family, and that is what the shooting world is a family.
I hoping to use this blog to promote that it’s more then just a man with a dog and a gun there are families behind the faces. A way of life that a lot of people may not understand but that real people, families are living.
Looking forward to keeping you updated.
